How did imperialism and militarism lead Europe to the brink of war in 1914?

Answer :

The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary in June 1914 gave the start that ignited world war I. Be that as it may, the fundamental causes of the war were much more imperialism and militarism were two of the most critical factors.

The most significant causes of Europe's impending conflict in 1914 were militarism and imperialism.

Imperialism was a policy that involved using force, colonization, or other methods to increase a nation's power and influence.

European nations engaged in a vigorous rivalry for imperial territory in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As each power aimed to surpass the others in terms of the size and might of their empires, this competition resulted in tensions and rivalries between the powers.

Militarism is the view that a nation's specialist infers fundamentally from its military might which maintaining a strong military is significant for keeping up national security. The militarization of European cultures developed over a long time sometime recently to World War I.

This brought about a more prominent center on military might as a sign of national pride, which was partly caused by the development of patriotism.

Also, the armaments competition between the European countries was to fault. Pressure and doubt expanded as each state pointed to strengthen its armed forces.

Hence, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary in June 1914 triggered a chain of events that drove to World War I.

Rather easy Hungary wanted more land (so did Germany) and they where backed by Germany. Hungary attack Serbia which was beginning to militarize and was also backed by Russia(soon to be USSR) and thus they started fighting to defend/support their allies. France had also allied with Russia then France declared war on Germany, the Germans had a 2 front war to fight. France was also backed by Britain another world class super power at the time. and thus began the first world war. I got a bit off topic there but I hope this helps!
